In the words of Brad Sillars, Import Tuner October 2012 issue:
"What happens when four of the largest forces in the Midwest car enthusiast scene combine to put on one event? You get the grassroots epicness that Chicago now knows as Automass.
ClubFR is well known in the Midwest for hosting some of the most successful open-invite drift events with a veritable list of who's who in the local community attending. They teamed up their expertise with Touge Factory (a local car shop well known for their Stance brand coilovers and Tra Kyoto Rocket Bunny cars). JDM Chicago (the biggest JDM car community in the Midwest) and Project X (a thriving performance shop in Chicagoland) to host [a]... drift event and car show at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL.."
The folks of Automass would like to thank everyone of you who purchased a ticket, entered their ride in the show, signed up to drift, to help pit, vend, or support in their own way. You are the contributors to these events and because of your support, you are helping to bring an actual spectator friendly automotive driving event to Chicago. Automass, unlike the big corporate shows, is not being put on to make large profits, but to help more people enjoy the scene, and to help defray the considerable costs of hosting a drift event. The proceeds from Automass are used to reduce drivers fees, host entry level workshops, and bring events closer to Chicago, instead of hours away. Street, show, drift, or grip, we are all one big community and as one grows, we all grow. Thanks again for all your support!
